Alfred Dupree’s family was devastated by medical malpractice in 2009 that took the lives of his daughter and grandson. From that experience, he came to understand the severe restrictions and limitations on Louisiana’s harsh medical malpractice laws and volunteered to be an officer in PRAF to seek to restore patient’s rights and reform the Louisiana Medical Malpractice Act. Alfred has been a long time resident of Opelousas, Louisiana where he has been active in his community after serving in the military. He is a Sir Knight in the Knights of Peter Claver, served as director of Toys for Tots for Opelousas and surrounding areas, Jesus Cares which provides food for the elderly, a board member of the Opelousas Historical District, past member of the Opelousas Housing Authority, and a member of the Disabled Association of Veterans and the American legion Post 514.
